HAS. In montibus Himalayas in tenons, alt. 9-13,000 ped. : Kash-
mir, Falconer, JacquemontJ Wlnterbottom! Kanawer, Jtbyle! Kumaon,
Sir. et WinU Sikkim ?(Fl. vere.) (v. t?.)

Herba pusilla, 2-4-uucialis, glabra ; radice fibrosa, collo squamis involute. Folia
saepius longe petiolata, bipinnatiseeta, segmentis rotundatis bis ternatim sectis. Scapi
folia sequantes, 1-flori. Flares diametro unciales. Sepafa herbacea, late elliptica.
Petala 8-12, sepalis sabtriplo longiora, 6-8 lineaa longa, oblongo-cuneata, retusa,
fovea panra. Ach&tw ovalia, ntrinque obtusa, vix comjpressa, rogosa, stylo brevi
apiculata.

Our specimens from Sikkim are unfortunately so imperfect that their identity
with the plant of tbe Western Himalaya is very doubtful They are in fruit only,
and have larger and less divided leaf-segments, but are not otherwise distinguish-
able.

7. OXYGRAPHIS, Bonge.

Sepala. 5, persistentia.   Petala 10-15, foyea nectarifera impressa.
Adienia in capitulmn globosum collecta, membranacea, stylo subtdato
rostrata.    Semen erectum.  ^Herba? atyestref acaule*, radice perennante, 
foliis infegris, floribus aureis.

This genus is remarkable in the Order for its persistent sepals, which afford a
curious analogy with Nuphar. The only known species are those described below.

1. O. glacialis (Bunge, Enum. Fl. Alt. 35)* foliis ovalibus inte-

HAS. In Himalayse interioris surnmis alpibus:  Kumaon, Str. et
Sikkim, alt. 16-18,000 ped. ! (FL Jrd. Aug.) (v. t?;)

Herla, acanlis, 1-4-uncialis, glabra. nadix fibrosa. Folia crassiuscnk, J-l mi-
cias longa, -| 1 one. lata, petiolo snbEe^uilonga, basi vaginante. Scapus Bolitarius,
erectuS, 1-florus. Sepala late elliptica, obtusa, post anthesin aucta. Petala, 12-15,
angoste oblonga, 4 lineas longa, sepalis daplo longiora, infra foream callo trans-
versal! instmcta. AcJxnia numerosa, stylo subulate recto terminata, in capitulmn
globosum collecta.
2. O polypetala (H.f. et T.) ; foliis rotundato-subreniformibus
cirenato-lobatis.  Eanimculus polypetalus, Eoyle! HI. 54. 1. 11. /. 2..
